An Expedition to Ortigia

Our 14th anniversary is next week. As part of that celebration, and, of course as part of the ongoing Year of Expeditions, we have made our way to Italy. This week in Sicily, next week in Rome.

We are staying in Syracuse, in particular on an island in the old part of town called Ortigia.

I came via Norway. This time I stayed at a place called Holman,

I met Doreen in Rome, where we then took a short Vueling flight to Catania. These small airlines everywhere are sort of the same. Friendly folks, but I wouldn't want to trust them in an emergency.

We are renting via AirBnB (more on that later) and the place is very nice.
